Week 3: Watch 'Mad Max: Fury Road' director George Miller on the Ultimate Summer...

Times readers chose "Max Max: Fury Road" as this week's Ultimate Summer Movie and its director, George Miller, will join film critic Justin Chang on May 21 to discuss the 2015 action film.

The live video conversation with Miller will be broadcast at 6pm. at the Los Angeles Times Classic Hollywood Facebook Page and Youtube as Twitter.

Chang and entertainment columnist Glenn Whipp described "Mad Max: Fury Road" as one of the most notable action films ever made.

"It was rightly recognized at first sight as a masterpiece of action cinema and the construction of a dystopian world – not bad for a film that could easily have been the path to countless disastrously overrated Hollywood crazies," writes Chang.

To recap the rules: Every week, Chang presents a list of 16 films from 1975 to 2019, all released during the summer week. Readers vote on Twitter to determine a winner. You watch the movie on your own, then we meet at 6pm. on Thursday for a live broadcast event organized by Chang and with special guests.

What comes next: Week 4: After assuming considerable leadership, "Star Wars" finally succumbed to "Alien" in the last week of voting for the next #UltimateSummerMovie. Join Chang at 6 pm on May 28 for a live chat about all the "Alien" stuff on the Hollywood Los Angeles Times Classic, YouTube and Twitter Facebook page.
