Tesla Announces Model Y, It’s New Compact SUV, and it Costs Less Than Model X.
The new electric car from Elon Musk’s company has inherited many Model 3 features.
The Tesla showed the Model Y officially to the world, the new compact SUV of the company was launched at a lower price than the Model X, which was the latest version of the company, and inherited several features Model 3.
The new electric car company of Elon Musk is already in the pre-sale and will begin to be distributed in 2020, in the Long Range version.
According to the eccentric billionaire, 90% of his time is spent working at SpaceX and Tesla.
The Model Y will feature four versions, all of which will hold up to seven seats, and also a 15-inch screen in the center panel, which will have all the necessary information (speed, battery, map access, Auto Pilot, ).
These features listed were already in Model 3, so for those who know Tesla cars was nothing new.
The four versions available will be:
Model Y Performance: Long Range Battery; goes from 0 to 96km / h per hour in 3.5 seconds; the maximum speed is approximately 240km / h and it will be sold for $ 42700

The kilometers are approximate because in the US the distance counting standard adopted is not km / h but miles, which means that the conversion may lose a few decimal places.
The prices of cars are not considering tax incentives, this can cause the final price to change according to the country that is marketed. For detailed specifications, see Tesla’s official website.
The cars are produced in the US and China and have 75% of the parts we find in an ordinary sedan, with 10% larger volume.
It utilizes Gigafactory (lithium battery) 1 and 3, and PowerPacks that store the battery have 1.5gWh available.
Tesla announced that the charger network would reach 1,400 points and the Supercharger will be in 12,000 stations in 36 countries.
The Model Y is the fourth car launched by Tesla; a curious fact is that if you join all the letters of the models in order of release, a word is formed: S, 3, X, Y, (sexy).
Elon Musk had already given this clue on his Twitter, but now confirmed the joke with the letters of the cars.
