Samsung will make digital event in September and will not go to IFA fair

Samsung chose not to attend the IFA 2020 fair due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, a disease caused by the new coronavirus. In place, the South Korean company will hold an event in September, over the internet. The conference in Berlin, Germany, is scheduled for the same month.

Information about Samsung’s virtual event was revealed on Tuesday (30). Instead of being present at IFA 2020, the South Korean company will hold a virtual conference in early September in order to safeguard the health of its employees in the face of the pandemic.

But this does not mean that the company will no longer be attending IFA conferences in the coming years. According to a spokesman for Samsung on the specialized website CNET, “although Samsung does not participate in IFA 2020, we look forward to our continued partnership with IFA in the future.”

In addition to the September event, Samsung is yet to hold another virtual conference on August 5. The brand is expected to introduce the new Samsung Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy S7 Tab + during the Samsung Unpacked.

IFA 2020: face-to-face event will limit people

IFA Berlin will be held between 3 and 5 September in 2020. According to the organizers, the fair will be open only to invited people and will still have a limit of people per event, due to the effects of the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus, which almost canceled the face-to-face conference.

The fair will also feature other changes and virtual events. “The IFA 2020 concept was developed in close collaboration with Germany’s public health authorities to ensure the health and safety of all participants. The organizers will ensure social distance, careful crowd control and other effective public hygiene measures ”, explain the organizers.
