Shortly after the release of the album FEVER DREAM, Of Monsters and Men released a new video for "Wild Roses" on Thursday (October 17).
The clip shows singer Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir in a dark pool, diving into a haunting interpretive dance as the pop beat plays. Blood fills the water and tears fill his eyes, and water mimics his movements, paying homage to Scandinavian horror classics.
"Wild Roses & # 39; shows an introvert side of the album and is inspired by what it feels like to lean on its sadness. We wanted to capture that feeling in a performance for the music video, as well as bring some discomfort as well." Nanna said in a press release. "So we invited choreographer Stella Rosenkranz to help create the movements you see. We also knew we wanted to shoot the video in the water with some blood. To do that, director Þóra Hilmars immediately came to mind. Working together for years and knew it would be perfect for a Scandi horror-inspired music video. The video was filmed within 12 hours in a beautiful, mysterious pool in Hafnaförður, Iceland, hours before heading to the airport and starting our Fever Dream tour. the result and we are really excited to share it with everyone. ”
