This Wednesday (11), the federal deputy Joice Hasselmann (PSL-SP) became the new party leader in the House of Representatives.
With the election Hasselmann replaced deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PSL-SP). Both were the best voted deputies of Sao Paulo in 2018.
The change in leadership makes Planalto lose influence over the PSL's bench in the House, which can make it difficult to implement and articulate proposals. That's because Hasselmann became critical of the Bolsonaro after losing government leadership in Congress.
In this process, there is also the element that President Jair Bolsonaro left the PSL and articulates the formation of a new party, the Alliance for Brazil.
Hasselmann was elected the new leader of the government being supported by 22 of the 53 deputies who form the PSL's base in the House, with 14 deputies suspended.
