Lindsey Lagestee, singer of the cover band Dixie Crush, died on Monday (February 17), days after being hit by a car. She was 25 years old.
Your band confirmed the tragic news in a Facebook post. "Some of you may have heard the terrible news, but it is with a heavier heart that, unfortunately, we share that Lindsey Renee passed away on Monday due to complications from the accident last Friday," he posted next to a photo from Lagestee, read. "Our hearts are broken because of this meaningless tragedy."
"In addition to being an incredible artist, great friend and best bandmate, Lindsey was a loving daughter to Linda and Vaughn, compassionate sister to Lauren, Carrie and Samantha, Andrew's beloved aunt, Colin, Danielle, Alexander and Amber." and Kevin’s wonderful girlfriend, ”concluded the post.
According I like the country, the singer was walking towards the Firewater Saloon in Chicago, where the band was ready to play that night (February 14), when she was hit by a car while crossing the street. She was transported to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, where she died of her injuries.
Dixie Crush was founded in 2015, and since then the group has performed over 250 shows across the Midwest. In addition to his music career, Lagestee was also a pharmacist and graduated with a doctorate from Midwestern University with a PharmD degree.
