The number of investigated cases of the new coronavirus in Brazil has dropped to four.

Updated data from the Ministry of Health on Friday afternoon show that, from yesterday to today, three cases were discarded and one was included, all in São Paulo, informed Agency Brazil.

Of the four people still suspected of having the virus, there is a 2-year-old child, a 56-year-old adult and two people in their 20s. Two people are male and two are women. Everyone has a history of traveling to China, but not to Wuhan.

To date, 43 cases have been ruled out for the new coronavirus.

According to the executive secretary of the ministry, João Gabbardo, the number of suspected cases has dropped more rapidly thanks to the speed of laboratory diagnosis.

"As long as we don't have a virus circulation situation, this will be the expected pattern, a small number of suspects", declared Gabbardo, cited by Agência Brasil.

There is still no confirmed case of the new coronavirus in South America. To date, 64,460 cases have been recorded worldwide, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, in the United States. In China alone there are 63,866 cases. The death toll reached 1,384. In addition, 7,171 people were healed.
