Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PSL-SP) was dismissed by the national leadership of the party presidency legend in Sao Paulo, according to published on Thursday (5) by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
The decision comes after the congressman is punished with a 12-month suspension of the acronym. According to the TSE, Eduardo has not held the post since Tuesday (3).
In all, the PSL national board suspended or warned 18 party lawmakers this week, all allies of President Jair Bolsonaro, who left the caption to create the Alliance for Brazil.
All PSL directors from São Paulo appointed by Eduardo were dismissed, including Deputy Luiz Philippe de Orleans and Bragança, who was the first secretary of the subtitle and was suspended for three months.
During the suspension period, none of them may engage in party activities. The tendency is that Eduardo also migrates to another acronym.
Expulsion was more advantageous for scholarship holders
The suspension, however, can be considered a defeat for the scholarship holders. If expelled, they could seek another party without risk of losing their term.
The president's son has been in office since July 2019. The name of the new regional president has not yet been announced.
In October, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro was removed from the presidency of the Rio de Janeiro PSL.
The PSL and Bolsonaro lived months of crisis until the definitive rupture in November this year. The party was divided into two wings, the pockets and the allies of the acronym president, Deputy Luciano Bivar (PE).
Punished lawmakers are accused of trying to remove Bivar from party command. They all signed a manifesto against the president of the PSL.
